116 & West’s New UX Designer

Marc Herring is a longtime musician turned UX Designer. He grew up in Spokane and lived in Boise for over a decade, waxing nostalgic about devouring a Cubano at Bleubird. We can’t help but think his journey to 116 is serendipitous.

The flashes of insight gained during other jobs he took to support his music career laid the groundwork for Marc to become a UX designer. His stint in retail as a merchandiser sparked his curiosity about the psychology behind purchasing choices. And as a production designer, he organized information in such a manner as to make the most significant impact.

As an “aspiring data nerd,” Marc walks a tightrope of facts and intuition. He’s worked with folks of all ages and is highly experienced in communicating effectively to bridge gaps. All this to say, it would be challenging to be a UX Designer without empathy, so we’re thrilled to welcome such a curious, kind, and talented member to our growing team.

When Marc isn’t designing, he’s spending time with his wife, Lindsey, a songwriter, and two-year-old son, Asa, who takes after his parents with a burgeoning adoration of music.
