The High Country Inn: Website Redesign

Located in Ahsahka, Idaho, The High Country Inn, was in need of a new brand experience and digital presence. This cozy, family-owned bed and breakfast asked DaviesMoore to design and develop a website that captured the charm and rustic elements of the Inn with a focus on an online booking system, dining, special events and things to do in the surrounding area.
To understand the guest’s perspective of the Inn and deliver an authentic web experience, the digital team did an in-depth discovery, which included an overnight trip to The High Country Inn. While on-site, the team met with the owners, photographed the property, was served food custom-fit to dietary restrictions, enjoyed the amenities and took in the full experience.
The first priority for the website was to create an intuitive user experience that made it simple to check room availability, book online and pay the reservation deposit through PayPal on the consumer end, and easy usability regarding managing bookings on the back end for The High Country Inn staff. The second priority was to clearly convey the hospitality, custom dining, event planning, amenities and outdoor adventures guests can enjoy at the Inn – from intimate weekend getaways to large group events like weddings and family reunions. Another important aspect was to have The High Country Inn guest reviews that were submitted through Yelp, TripAdvisor, Facebook and written in their physical guest book integrated into the site.
Adding relevance for SEO and a place to add recipes, news, and announcements warranted a blog page with filtering. To tie in the emotional element, the story of the Inn and images of the property, the owners and guests are included in photo galleries throughout the site.
