Graphic Designer - Spokane Office

We are seeking a Graphic Designer who is passionate about design, strategic marketing and thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented atmosphere.

LET’S TALK ABOUT THE ROLE.

As part of the creative team, the graphic designer works on concept and design for a wide variety of integrated branding and marketing solutions including print, TV, radio, digital campaigns brand development and website design. In addition, the graphic designer will support business development and agency marketing as an integral part of new business proposals and presentations.

As a member of the team charged with executing creative vision, the graphic designer interfaces with the client services, digital and creative departments. The individual who fills this position must be self-motivated and exemplify strong leadership qualities as well as fit into the agency’s established culture that promotes autonomy with results.

The graphic designer works independently on assigned projects and collaboratively as a member of a project team. The designer creates concepts based on creative direction. The designer may at times work directly with client service, or with production artists and outside contractors (freelancers and vendors) to complete design requirements or to supervise in-house production. The graphic designer will report to the art director.

We are looking for a designer with knowledge of production processes, and experience using design software including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Familiarity with color modes, and an understanding of typography is important. It would also be beneficial if the applicant has reasonable drawing skills, knowledge of commercial printing processes, and familiarity with typestyles, stock photography, and computer retouching/image manipulation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provides design and illustration (digital and/or traditional) from conception to completion as required.
  • Works with art director/copywriter teams to concept and complete assigned projects and campaigns.
  • Assists client services teams with presentations for creative and new business pitches.
  • Maintains high skill levels in software programs required to perform assigned job functions; takes training in the use of new design and illustration software as the agency requires.
  • Assists in archiving and maintaining digital files, project hard copies, photography, illustrations, logo art, typestyles, historical collateral samples, etc., of client materials and resources.
  • Maintains current computer software skills compatible with the needs of other creative team members.
  • Maintains internal digital file backups for in-progress jobs; uploads completed project files to agency server.

Education and experience:

  • 2-5 years of professional experience in print and digital/graphic design
    OR
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in design or arts-related field

The successful candidate will:

  • Be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe In-Design
  • Have strong creative vision and visual arts skills with an established portfolio
  • Create original design solutions for print and online experiences such as logos and branding, brochures, websites, emails, social media and more
  • Have an understanding of or experience in corporate branding, layout, color theory and typography in both print and digital media
  • Study industry trends in visual communications and develop fresh, creative and innovative ideas
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and organization
  • Take creative direction and input from others
  • Follow workflow procedures and protocols
  • Be self-motivated with a track record of success working independently to juggle and complete multiple projects and deadlines
  • Seek understanding of client deliverables, and the ability to take responsibility for them
  • Oversee projects and execute them from beginning to end
  • Work with a large variety of clients
  • Have a willingness to be flexible to meet client deadlines as assigned
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a professional, courteous, respectful and ethical manner
  • Continually learn client preferences and brand guidelines
  • Collaborate with account leads and follow creative request/brief
  • Be a creative thinker, with natural ability to brainstorm visual ideas on a regular basis in a fast-paced agency
  • Background in animation, video, illustration or photography a plus, but not required

Nitty Gritty:

  • Full-time, salary dependent on experience
  • In-office (Spokane)
  • Required hours: 8-5pm PST
