116 ACTS OF KINDNESS PROJECT: WOMEN'S AND CHILDREN'S ALLIANCE
The Women’s and Children’s Alliance (WCA) is a transitional shelter program for women and children fleeing domestic or sexual abuse. Their crisis program is invaluable to our community. We are luck to have them in Boise. Each holiday season, businesses and community members alike are invited to sponsor a family through the WCA. We jumped at the chance.
After it was confirmed we would sponsor a family (who remain anonymous), we received a list of much-needed items or gifts desired by that family. 116 & West worked to fulfill that wish list. As a team, we bought, wrapped, and labeled each gift. Those of us who were able to donate money did, others donated time by wrapping and helping deliver. We feel a great deal of warmth and gratitude knowing we can bring a little joy to a family in need.
If you’re interested in helping the WCA, there are a few ways you can make a difference:
Volunteer: Engage by volunteering for the WCA. To learn more, visit the volunteer page on their website.
Monetary donations: They accept monetary donations though a secure online form.
Wish list: The WCA also has a helpful, year-round wish list of items that you can donate.
116 Acts of Kindness is a program that is intended to help spread kindness in our community. Our goal is to commit 116 acts of kindness each calendar year, no matter how big or small. Keep your eyes on this space to stay up to date on our current act of kindness, and to see how you can get involved to make our world a better, more generous place.
