With 80 years in the fruit-growing business, Starr Ranch Growers was outgrowing their brand.

 

We collaborated closely with their team to create a new brand identity and implemented that brand into product packaging, in-store displays, a robust tradeshow booth, a new website, and social media accounts.

We did our best to protect Starr Ranch Growers’ brand equity while infusing it with a contemporary feel. We wanted both retailers and customers to feel confident the products they’re buying are from a high-quality, tradition-based company that has the perfected the art of pristine, farm-to-table packing.

Packaging

The packaging for Starr Ranch Growers shows off both the branding and the fruit. Designed to keep the fruit fresh and be a easily carryable, the packaging provides consumers a great way to experience the brand and the products.

Tradeshow Booth

The tradeshow booth was a showstopper. Each wall was an actual apple display, giving visitors the chance to see and taste the fruit. We also utilized the brand illustrations to set the booth apart and create a sense of fun. The centerpiece of it all was a beautiful tree to represent Starr Ranch Growers’ gorgeous orchards. The display won Best of Show – Produce Marketplace Island Booth at the 2019 PMA Fresh Summit.

Website

To give consumers more context about where their food comes from and highlight Starr Ranch Growers’ commitment to quality, we designed and built a website. A main goal of the site was to move their messaging from B2B to B2C. To do this we told the story of the business and their orchards, included the flavor profile and seasonal availability of their fruit, and suggestions for tasty recipes.

Influencer Campaign

One of the ways we introduced the SRG brand into more households was through a social media influencer campaign. We used this grassroots, cost-effective approach to connect with our audience and raise brand awareness. We directed, shot, and designed every piece of the gorgeous influencer packet, which included recipes, an SRG introduction card, and influencer guideline cards. Each package was customized by name for each influencer.

Results

With 35 total influencers across three cities, we garnered 221 influencer-created pieces of content about the SRG products and brand. SRG also saw a 21% surge in new followers across all platforms.
